Nawada

Nawada is a Town and a Municipality in Bihar state of India. It is also the Administrative Headquarters of the Nawada district . Nawada town is situated on both sides of the Khuri River at around 24º 53’ N and 85º 33’ E.  Right side of river have old stalemate, while left side is modern & have all offices.  Its name is evolved from sanskrit word  'Nau-abad' , meaning the 'New Town' which was earlier known as ‘The Eliot Market (Bazaar)’. It was established as a Subdivision of Gaya district in 1845. Nawada was formed as a separate district from Gaya district on 26th January 1973 & Nawada Town is made as its headquarter.

Nawada Railway Station or Nawadah is only railway station in Nawada Town of Nawada District . Its station code is 'NWD' . The station is currently of 2 platforms & 2 tracks. It is a NSG-5 station. Its overall earning is ₹67396805 (6.74 cr. approx.) in financial year 2022-23. This station lies in almost middle of  Gaya-Kiul line of East Central Railway zone. Current building of this station is one of " Heritage Inventory of Indian Railway " . Currently Nawada is not connected to the state capital Patna by any direct rail routes, but there are direct trains from Nawada to the metro cities of India like Delhi, Pune & Kolkata.  To promote local products " One Station One Product " stall is also opened at this railway station.
